Se han dicho muchas cosas sobre la Comunicación y su importancia en las empresas y organizaciones, pero hay una que a veces no suele mencionarse lo suficiente: La comunicación es más efectiva, mientras menos egoísta es.
Me explico: podemos preparar una exposición brillante, un informe completísimo, un artículo revelador, pero si nuestro público meta no lo entiende, o entiende una idea equivocada a partir de él, entonces nuestro trabajo fue poco efectivo. En la Comunicación humana es igual de importante lo que deseo expresar como lo que mi público entiende.
Hay veces en que para lograr esto, tendré que modificar mi idea original, que cambiar mis medios o modificar por completo mi estilo o herramientas de Comunicación, y eso suele exigir una cantidad considerable de humildad y capacidad de adaptación al medio en que vivimos.
Es, a fin de cuentas, un ejercicio de equilibrio: encontrar el modo de poder compartir la información esencial sin comprometer el contenido, siendo flexibles ante las necesidades de la organización y del equipo que la recibirá.”
