Position Summary: 

We are looking for a Shopify Plus Engineer to support and continuously improve our Shopify Plus e-commerce platform. This role will be responsible for maintaining both the front-end

user experience and the back-end functionality of the Shopify Plus environment, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and scalability.

The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, and proactive, constantly identifying opportunities to improve UI, UX, conversion rates, and overall site performance. This role requires strong experience working with Shopify Plus development, along with a working understanding of NetSuite ERP integrations. Experience with the Celigo integration platform is a strong plus.

This role is critical to ensure that the Shopify Plus platform remains accurate, optimized, and continuously improving after launch, supporting both our e-commerce operations and long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

Shopify Plus Platform Management

• Manage and maintain the Shopify Plus storefront, ensuring optimal performance, functionality, and reliability.

• Monitor the health of the website, identifying and resolving issues related to navigation, search, filters, product pages, and integrations.

• Ensure seamless connectivity with Shopify apps, marketing tools, and platform APIs.

Product Catalog & Content Implementation

• Manage product creation, bulk uploads, and updates in Shopify
• Upload and manage products within Shopify according to the established product templates and product matrix.
• Ensure all product pages include complete and accurate information, including images, specifications, documentation, add-ons, and related products.
• Standardize product attribute frameworks across categories
• Ensure alignment between Shopify and NetSuite item records
• Own product launch workflows (from intake → live QA)
• Structure and maintain:
• Product titles, categorization, collections, descriptions, tags, filters,metafields
• Variants and options

NetSuite & Systems Integration Oversight

• Monitor and support the integration between Shopify Plus and NetSuite (via Celigo or other middleware).
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and data synchronization between the systems.
• Propose and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.

UI / UX Optimization

• Continuously evaluate the user experience across the website.
• Propose and implement UI/UX improvements to increase usability, navigation clarity, and conversion rates.
• Since we do not have a dedicated UI/UX team, this role will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the eCommerce Sales team and Product Managers to ensure product launches, assets, categories, add-ons, and merchandising strategies are properly implemented and kept up to date.
• Ensure product data, marketing assets, and merchandising strategies are correctly reflected on the website.

Website Audits, Testing & Continuous Improvement

• Perform regular audits of the website to ensure product assets, filters, collections, search functionality, and integrations are working properly.
• Debug and test the website regularly to enhance performance and reliability.
• Identify gaps, outdated content, broken elements, or inconsistencies and resolve them proactively.
• Provide coordination and technical support to protect the platform against operational failures.
• Recommend improvements to site performance, merchandising, and customer experience.

Search & Merchandising Optimization

• Improve on-site search performance (Shopify + AI search tools)
• Optimize:
• Tags
• Filters
• Product relationships
• Support merchandising strategy (bundles, cross-sells)

This role is critical to ensure that the Shopify Plus platform remains accurate, optimized, and continuously improving after launch, supporting both our e-commerce operations and long-term growth.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other similar field.
• 3+ years of experience with Shopify Plus development
• Experience with PageFly page builder
• Must have maintenance, launch, and shop construction expertise, and also have a general understanding of the admin system.
• Expert in JavaScript, DOM, CSS3, and HTML5.
• Has previous experience in Storefront API and working with custom themes.
• Has working knowledge of Shopify’s Liquid templating and theming system.
• Previous experience in debugging or implementing 3rd-party Shopify applications and making unique solutions when required.
• Must carry expertise and knowledge with jQuery, current frameworks of JavaScript, vanilla JavaScript, and ES2015/ES6.
• Must carry working knowledge of Shopify properties or objects, Meta fields, and AJAX API.
• Must possess debugging and testing abilities utilizing the browser console and various other tools.
• Must have the ability to provide proactive feedback and interact effectively.
• Working knowledge of 3rd-party APIs and services, along with Shopify plugins.
• Previous experience in creating responsive and unique layouts for mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.
• Improve Shopify Plus site speed, SEO structure, and technical performance
