Position Title: Financial Analyst / Accountant
Location: Work from Home/ Remote
Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, M-F except for USA National Holidays

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst / Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting regulations. A strong understanding of U.S. accounting standards is required, and familiarity with the accounting norms of Mexico and Puerto Rico is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- The main responsibilities of the role are budget creation and maintaining healthy cash flow for the company.
- Monthly budget, as well as quarterly, semi-annual, and/or annual budgets, depending on the company’s needs.
- Create a cost-reduction plan.
- Cost allocation by company.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Process Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- AR: Billing, collections, payment reminders, and payment allocations accordingly.
- AP: Verify vendors’ bank account details, create bills, process payments in a timely and accurate manner, and follow up on outstanding payments according to their due dates
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. And procedures
- Apply knowledge of Mexican (NIFs) and Puerto Rican accounting norms where applicable.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors as needed.
- Support tax preparation and filing processes in accordance with U.S. standards.
- Process payroll and review financial employee records.
- Support the team with general administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting regulations (GAAP) is required.
- Familiarity with Mexican (NIF) and Puerto Rican accounting norms is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

Physical Demands:

Travel:
- May be required to occasionally travel to other parts of Mexico and the US
- May be required to run errands on behalf of People Thrust
