Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Mailroom Attendant to support day-to-day operations involving the receipt, sorting, and distribution of mail, as well as shipping and receiving of packages and freight. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming mail, packages, and freight
- Sort and distribute internal and external mail to appropriate departments
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments using carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.)
- Maintain accurate shipping/receiving logs and tracking records
- Handle time-sensitive or confidential materials with discretion and urgency
- Coordinate with delivery drivers, couriers, and internal staff regarding deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure mailroom environment
- Assist with inventory management and supply restocking
- Operate mailroom equipment such as postage machines, scanners, and printers
- Support other facilities-related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in a mailroom, shipping/receiving, or logistics role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with shipping software a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
