Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Shipping/Receiving Assistant to join our logistics team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will assist with the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain inventory records, and ensure compliance with company and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments; verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and carrier scheduling
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipping discrepancies or delays
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily shipping and receiving goals
- Other tasks as deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with shipping software is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
