Position Title: Windows Device Driver Developer (Filter Driver Developer)

Position Summary:
We are working on an innovative service called Autonomo that enables location tracking and interaction between smart assets. Our goal is to enhance and optimize our Wi-Fi adapter component, specifically transitioning away from Wi-Fi Direct towards a more efficient and scalable solution.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Windows Device Driver Expert to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to rework the Wi-Fi adapter portion of the Autonomo service by developing a Windows Filter Driver to replace the existing Wi-Fi Direct Adaptor. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows driver development, particularly Filter Drivers, and a strong background in C++ or similar languages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Windows Filter Driver to replace the current Wi-Fi Direct Adaptor used in our Autonomo service.
- Collaborate with our engineering team to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the new driver.
- Troubleshoot, debug and optimize driver performance to meet the specific needs of our service.
- Provide input on potential future developments for other operating systems (MacOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, iOS) as our service expands.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define clear deliverables and ensure the project is completed on time and within scope.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in device driver development, with a strong emphasis on Windows Filter Drivers.
- Proficient in C++ or similar programming languages used for driver and firmware development.
- Experience with Wi-Fi Direct and a solid understanding of its limitations and alternatives.
- Familiarity with driver development on other operating systems (Linux, MacOS, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with smart asset tracking systems or related technologies.
- Understanding of networking protocols and wireless communication standards.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality results in a fixed-bid project environment.
