“I’ve been working since September 2020.”
If you could be a car, what car would you be and why?
“I would be a minivan where I can fit a lot of people. That way I can take all my loved ones everywhere I go.”
What do you like to do when you aren’t working? (hobbies)
“I enjoy everything related to photography. I’m a musician and my favorite instruments to play are the guitar and the piano. I like playing Latin rock, progressive rock, and Coldplay among others.”
What is a tradition you have and why?
“Originally we are from Mexico City and as most people know in Mexico we don’t celebrate the American holiday of Thanksgiving. However, my wife my daughter, and I celebrate Thanksgiving. I like this holiday because it is a day to be intentional about being grateful about life.”
If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive) who it would be, and why?
“I would have dinner with my grandma from my mom’s side. When I was younger my family and me moved to Spain for 5 years and when I came back to Mexico I barely got time to spend with my grandma. She is someone I always keep in mind and would love to have dinner and have a chat with her.”
What motivates you to wake up every day?
“My daughter and my wife. I would give my life for them, they motivate me to keep going. Today (December 22nd) is my 6th anniversary with my wife.”
What is a moment in your career and life you’re most proud of?
“My biggest accomplishment was the day my daughter was born. The day I held her in my arms for the first time, my life changed FOREVER. Career-wise, something I am proud of was at my last job. I started from the bottom when I was just 18 and worked there 18 years and eventually became an Operations manager.”
What do you do when you are feeling deflated?
“I mostly pray, and listen to melancholic music so that way I can be in touch with my emotions. Another thing I do is watch Lord of the Rings. Oh… and the TV show Jersey Shores is my guilty pleasure.”
What do you do to give back or pay it forward?
“Here in Tijuana, there is a big immigration crisis. I like to donate clothing and food to shelters that support that community. I try to do something daily as well even if it means giving someone a ride that lives far away. I love animals, but unfortunately, I can’t have them at my home and I would like to do something related to animal care, rights, shelters, etc in the near future.”
Fun fact about you? Share something that nobody would guess about you.
“Laugh at loud… you won’t believe what I am into. My wife recently “caught me” watching it. Drum rolls, please!!! I am a fan of robot fights. I love everything about it, the engineers’ thought process, the robots, the fights… EVERYTHING!
Question from the previous MEM/WEW/TET? “What 3 wishes you would request the genie in a bottle?”
“1. Go to New Zealand, my fascination for this country started because I am a fan of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and after that, I kept researching it and found how beautiful the scenery is as well. 2. I want to find a suitcase with enough money that I can pay my loved ones’ mortgages 3. My final wish is that I want to be alive to see my grandchildren (if my daughter decides to be a mom one day).”
