WEW: Susana Jimenez

Name of Collaborator:

“Susana Jimenez”

“Sr. IT Recruiter”

What client(s) are you working for (if applicable)?

 “People Thrust.”

How long have you been working with People Thrust?

“Since May 2019”

If you could be a car, what car would you be and why?

“I would be a Tesla, I like that is an eco-friendly, beautiful, and sophisticated car.”

What do you like to do when you aren’t working? (hobbies)

“I like to maintain myself active and move my body by dancing.”

What is a tradition you have and why?

“In Mexico, we celebrate the Day of the Dead, however in my family we celebrate Halloween. When I was younger we didn’t have anyone who passed away so we couldn’t really build them an altar and honor them like you do on the Day of the Dead instead we celebrated Halloween by wearing costumes. It is something I still do with my son.”

If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive) who it would be, and why?

“I would have dinner with Natalie Portman, besides being an amazing actor she studied psychology. I would also have dinner with Emma Watson, both of these ladies inspire me because they are feminists who use their voices to empower and bring topics about humanity and rights to the world.”

What motivates you to wake up every day?

“My son, waking up every day and making him breakfast, getting him ready for the day, and taking him to school. My world revolves around him.”

What is a moment in your career and life you’re most proud of?

“In my personal life, my biggest accomplishment has been to be a full-time mom, to be present for my son since the day he was born. Career-wise, I went to school and studied psychology and I liked how I can apply that to my job in recruiting. I love to keep learning about technology and a combination of that and psychology is what makes me have successful conversations with candidates for positions and coworkers.”

What do you do when you are feeling deflated?

“I take a moment to laugh, usually what makes me laugh is a comedy show: Friends. Recently I have been watching Blue with my soon too.”

What do you do to give back or pay it forward?

“I do monthly donations to UNICEF and Save the Children, anything related to children is where my heart is at.”

Fun fact about you? Share something that nobody would guess about you.

“I have a few, the first one is that I was able to do the splits at 33 years old. YAY flexibility!! The second is that throughout my childhood my dad would not let me ride my bicycle outside on the road (just parks or my house). For the first time ever I bought myself a bicycle last December and started riding through neighborhoods. It was scary at first, but I love it!”

Question from the previous MEM/WEW/TET: “If you could be anyone from history who would you be and why? It can be the villain too!”

“I would be Virginia Woolf, she is an English writer from the 20th century. I would like to be her because she is a pioneer and a female author. Back then women didn’t have a lot of freedom or rights and the fact that she wrote many novels and books is an achievement. My favorite book by her is To the Lighthouse.”

What question do you have for the next MEM/WEW/TET:

“What 3 wishes you would request the genie in a bottle?”
